Volunteer Youth and Community Worker
16-year-old Alice started volunteering at Ynysybwl Regeneration Partnership in the summer of 2021 and made a big impact on the support for young people’s summer activities. Alice is always keen to learn and currently is leading her own project ‘Mindfulness Make-Up’ to support other young people by me providing engagement activities through Make up sessions that will include creating a relaxation environment. Alice is looking forward to contributing to Mobile Learning Communities and in her own time hobbies include makeup/skincare, dancing and singing and is a hardworking and committed.
Mark Hutton – Lead Youth Enterprise Officer at Ynysybwl Regeneration Project
Mark joined YRP in March 2019 with a role to support young people involved with An Enterprising Future project. Funded by The National Lottery Community Fund People and Place. Where people and communities are working together and using their strengths to make positive impacts on the things that matter to them the most. This project works with young people from Ynysybwl, Glyncoch and some of the surrounding areas. Utilising an asset based and person-centred approach and engage with young people through facilitating enterprise activities informed by the interests of the young people. These enterprise activities form part of youth provision and other workshops, events, social enterprise visits and community activities. The project started 12 months ago and Enterprising Futures and is seeing some great community development and the staff are currently supporting local young people’s enterprises.
