Debate club

Start a debate club where young people can debate current events and important issues.

You’ll need to do some planning, draw up a list of interesting topics and recruit members. Make a poster to advertise your first session and share it with us #MLCeu

Debating can help you to develop critical thinking skills and understand different perspectives on important issues.

Volunteer

Why not participate in volunteer work in your community, such as cleaning up a park or helping out at a food bank.

If you can’t find an activity, think up a useful one with your group.

Write a letter

Start a letter writing campaign

Write letters to your local elected officials about issues you care about.

Your voice is powerful, it is important to speak up for what is right and for what you need.

You could ask about environmental issues, better recycling facilities, improvements to your local park or even the possibility of an event for young people. You might even get your local councillors to agree to meet with you and talk through your ideas.

Let us know how you get on #MLCeu

Make a Map

Create a custom community Google Map and pin useful community resources to it, there may be a food pantry, a recycling collection or a charity drop-off point. Maybe you have an advice centre or tourist information. Work with others to add to the map and create a useful community resource.

Heres our example from Pontypridd
